Weighing Pool Cover Hail Damage risk....

Considering a number of things on when to open my pool, I am wondering what the risk of hail is to a pool cover. It is not uncommon to get hail damage in early April in Kansas. I have bought 3 roofs to prove it.

However this is my first year in a house with a pool. I know the loop loc cover is not cheap and hate to ruin one if i can avoid it.

Hail will float once the cover settles on the water. I wouldn't worry about it.

You can also opt to remove and store the cover if you are anticipating significant hail. Let the hail splash into the pool. Besides, the cover wouldn't stand much of a chance in high winds associated with storms of the magnitude that you folks are used to seeing.
