How to raise / decrease Calcium Hardness?

I would suggest the skimmer....pour it slowly so it doesn't clog up. Pump running, of course.

So if you actually pour it walking around the pool, it is not that good? Any special reason? Just want to have my notes clear on this.

Calcium can be spread across the surface of the deep end (unless you are using the kind that comes as pellets). Using the skimmer is fine as well. Pre-dissolving calcium can potentially be dangerous, since it heats up quite a bit as it dissolves, though even that can be done with a little extra caution.

Actually this clacium chloride do come as small balls / pellets, so I guess should be done through the skimmer only.

Thanks for the warning hints, didn't know that about this chemical.
