Brown cloudy water after backwash

Hi

For the past 2 days, our pump is pumping out brown cloudy water into the pool after each backwash. However, this lasts about 20 seconds. Does anyone know what might be causing it? I'm not sure if it has to do with the chlorine grains from 2 weeks ago, as we did a shock then. But why would the cloud it pumps out brown? At first I thought it was sand, but there's no sand on the bottom of the pool.

It sounds like your not running the rinse cycle after you backwash the filter. If you do that say about 30 seconds to a minute then hopefully that will sort you out.
