EasyTouch 8 & heat pumps

Hi All,

im finally up and running! Everything is working great thanks to this forum. Now its time to start shopping for a heat pump.

Since i have a pentair EasyTouch 8 i was looking at the UltraTemp 140. Does it really matter whoch brand I get? Will i lose any integration if I go with a hayward or aquacal?

Is the low ambient worth the extra & and reduced COP?

im leaning towards the UltraTemp 140 or the Hayward 140 low ambient

im in the NE (long island), ~15k gallon vinyl pool

What do folks think about using an electric SPA heater (11Kw or 18Kw) for the SPA (450 gallons) and use the heat pump strictly for the pool?

How would an electric spa heater integrate with an easy touch 8? I have no plans on using the SPA after OCT and no earlier than MAY.

Am I way over thinking this and should I just bite the bullet and do the Ultra temp 140 or Haywards equivilent?

Do you have gas to your house?

No gas and propane is a bit expensive here on LI. Not to mention the cost of installing/renting tanks, etc.
