Heater high limit fault & poor jet strength

I’ve had my pool for 11 pretty trouble free years but a month or so ago the heater would stop due to a high limit fault while heating up the spa. After it cooled down it would re-light and carry on. Now it’s happening more frequently and only 2 of 4 spa jets are working..
I seem to have full water flow in pool mode but retricted flow in spa mode.
DE filter was just cleaned as in the past if the spa didn’t start up well this was the issue.
Any ideas?

When you say only 2 of 4 spa jets are working -- there is no flow from the 2 jets not working?

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.

Welcome to TFP.

I can't imagine a failure mode that has a connection between the heater and two spa jets. I would deal with them as two independent problems. Only connection I can think of is if your heater core is clogged and restricting flow the same way a dirty filter would. Do you have a valve to bypass your heater?

What is the model of your heater? What model filter?

Has your filter pressure changed from normal operation?
