Light Wedge

Hi all,

The bolt in my light nitch broken so there is nothing to screw the light into. I’m being told that a Light Wedge is the only fix and expect to redo this every couple years because the light wedges must be replaced every couple years.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Yep, the light wedge is a simple and economical way to fix this problem. It is simply a plastic wedge with a bolt to keep the fixture in place. Sometimes two wedges may be required to keep the light in place. They are made by Pool Tool Co (item # 132).

Thanks. Is this pretty much a permanent fix or is it something that has to be redone every couple years? Or just retightened?

They do wear out. Bulb changes are the #1 wear cause.

I assume you mean that the threaded tab welded to the niche let go, not that the screw used to hold the fixture. The screws are replaceable, the tab require a wedge.
