Saratoga spa step and install/jet question

My pool builder is giving me a quote of $500 for a compressor to pump air into the spa jets of a saratoga step-n-spa step. Is this appropriate?

My pool uses Saratoga spill over spa, swim out, step and rest. None of which require a compressor. The pool is plumbed to direct flow to anyone of these. I have attached their site, you could contact the manufacturer.

Thanks DaveNJ, I assume that your jets "bubble" or agetate lke a spa jet with JUST the water flow?

Yes, more, less or no air by the air inlets mounted in the steps, swimout or spa.

Does anyone else know anything about this? I have my PB coming this weekend to finalize my stuff and sign, and this is the one item I am really not sure about. DaveNJ, I do thank you for your input. I am just a bit concerned about why my PB is talking about this 500 compressor....

Spa jets can get their air from the venturi effect, which uses the water flow to draw air in, or from an air compressor. Generally speaking an air compressor is capable of getting more air into the water but it also costs more.
