Can excessive pollen cause cloudy water?

Not really. Pollen tends to float and get caught by the skimmer if you have one. Once the pollen has soaked up enough water, it will sink. It generally doesn’t stay suspended in the water column.

What is your water chemistry telling you? If the cloudiness is due to algae, your overnight chlorine loss will be greater than 1ppm in most cases.

I have loads of pollen from april to early may. as Matt said, it mostly gets picked up by the skimmer, but
mine being directly below a red pine, it tends to accumulate on the bottom of the pool over a period of a week.

There was a ton of it this year.
