Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on here in awhile...busy summer for sure.
The GOOD news is that I truly have had a 'Trouble Free' summer, thanks to changing to the BBB method and SWG last season, helped along by you great folks.
Now for the only trouble I've had, my pump...
My Pentair pump has been reluctant to restart anytime I've stopped it this summer. I've had to take it apart and spin the impeller, then re-assemble it, to get it started on most occassions.
Today I noticed that the pump is now leaking (really, 'slinging') water out of the motor end. It's also got some salt buildup where the motor side meets the filter basket side. It's not leaking from the gaskets as far as I can tell; it's actually 'slingin' water from the motor side.
So is it a goner? Or can I squeeze a couple more weeks out of it?
thanks for any help!

Todd, sounds like the shaft seal assembly went bad on you

It's a pretty easy fix and not too expensive. There are a few posts here on changing one (including one in the 'further reading' section of Pool School.

If you need any help with it - we'll be here for you :goodjob:
