Convert two-speed pump timer to on/off???

I'll get the specifics off my equipment tonight, but looking for the forums thoughts.

I currently have a mechanical timer that controls my 2-speed pump alternating its operation between low and high speed. Once I've closed the pool for the winter, I'd like to convert this timer to turn the pump on and off so I can simply run the pump 1-2 hours/day on low speed. Is this possible? Is there a better timer out there that could control the pump (off/low/high)?

Without knowing which timer you have it's hard to say exactly but I'm pretty sure you can do it. It's most likely just a matter of pulling the pins on the "high speed" run time and letting the "low speed" run time remain the same.
