    Taylor test kit and CYA

    I am filling the test tube to the top and still can see the black dot...what would that mean my number would be?? Here are the rest of my numbers...Any help about the CYA would be great ....thanks

    PH 8
    TA 120
    CA 250
    CYA 9+ ??

    It means that your cya is below 30 ppm - if the water in the tube is a little cloudy, you have some cya in there (probably below 20) When did you last add cya?

    If you mean conditioner ...I put what was left of a pale a few days ago.About half a pale not sure of the ounces.

    Here's a visual on the CYA test that may help. BTW, CYA is also called conditioner or stabilizer.

    This test can be a little tricky to get a handle on.

    It can take up to 5-7 days for the CYA to fully dissolve and register on tests. Did you add it directly to the skimmer or did you use the 'sock method'?
    I added to the skimmer ...I just bought another 4 lbs and added about half. I will test it Saturday and see what it comes out at.

    Make sure you leave the filter running while it dissolves and don't clean the filter for a week. It takes 5-7 days for it to dissolve so you should wait until Monday at least to retest.
