First time Algae in my pool

Hi
I have been using my pool all summer with no problems and last week it suddenly went green.
I measured the FC and it was 0. So no suprise there.
Now I shocked it, i have the sand filter running 24/7 and I am waiting.
2 days later my FC is 8.8
PH 7.1 and TA 86.
The water is still very green. Should I shock it again?

Hi, John,

Welcome to the forum. Your issue is improper shocking. As the article suggests, shocking is a process that can take a few days and you are only finished with it when your pool is crystal clear and there is no trace of algae.

Those test results don't look like they came from a drops based kit. How are you testing? What is your CYA level?
