How to tell what size pump?

Hello - I am a complete Newbie but learning fast!

What do I look for on the pump to be able to tell what size it is? I would like to be able to give complete information before posting questions.

Welcome to TFP

There will be a plate on the pump motor that indicates the size and other information. Similar to this

HP and SF are the important points.
