Hi everyone ,

second year opeing my pool snd tbis weatber was crazy crazy this year. This year even thought i bought products that said it would be blue after the winter , it was dark green with a lot of algae. After the initial 1ilb shock it became a teal color. Now the it has been 48 hours and still have this film and this white thick foam.

Wanted to confirm if it's foam from the agacide Or if it's mold. Can you help.

I cannot read the graphic. What test kit are you using? You do know pH plus is high priced Borax, right?

Sorry, I do not see a list of test results. The graphic is not readable. What test kit are you using?

The algaecide was a waste and is most likely causing the foam. What type was it? Ammonia or copper based?

Total hardness 500
Total chlorine 5
Free Chlorine 1
Ph 6.2 even though i put the suggest ph up. It hasn't changed
Tota alkalinity 120
Stabilizer 0( will add in an)

Use test strips and I'll check the algaecide tomorrow.

OK -- so test strips are not accurate.

For us to provide guidance we need the pool owner to do their own testing using a test kit that provides the test results needed to maintain a pool. The two proper test kits are the TF100 or Taylor K2006C.

Once you receive your test kit run a full battery of tests and report them here. We will then provide guidance on steps forward.

In the interim, check on what the algaecide was. Also you can add up to 3 ppm FC of chlorine per day using liquid chlorine.

Take care.
