Add Fiber Clear to Cartridge filter?

I was wondering if Fiber Clear (sold at Leslies) helps a cartridge filter work better. My pool is cloudy after killing algae and was wondering if this product would help clear it up quicker.

Fiber Clear is a replacement for D.E. (Diatomaceous Earth) in D.E. filters and can be used as a filter aid or enhancer for both cartridge filters and high-rate sand filters. (according to product description)

No I don't think you should use it.

IF the algae is dead, the filter will clear it, you just need POP. Did you confirm the algae is dead thru and overnight FC loss using an FAS-DPD test?

If you want to clean the cartridge, there are instructions in Pool School. Using a dishwasher detergent solution and soaking it and hosing it off is a good way to clean it, especially after an algae bloom.
