Lil background, we just moved into a house with a pool, an unmaintained for 2+ years pool.
So I started off hitting Leslie's and going that route, spending a lot of money and not really seeing any result, then I find this site.
After just 3 days doing the BBB method, after draining 1/3 of the water and refilling, my pool chemistry is spot on perfect.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you as this will definitely be the way I keep the pool from now on.

The stats:
FC: 5.0
CC: 5.0
pH: 7.6
TA: 130
CH: 200
CYA: 40
TDS: 1000

Welcome to TFP

I hope your second number where it says CC:5.0 really means TC:5.0

CC of 5ppm indicates problems, while FC and TC of 5ppm indicates good water.

It's sort of a personal choice. Most folks here on the forum use shock level as a high end for entering the pool. I will swim at higher levels but am in the minority. (Shock level is certainly a good, safe choice)

Here's where we are now:
