Solar blanket when water is warm?

    Hi everyone,

Here is a little question that is bugging me for a while and I never know what to do. Here we go:

I leave in Canada and that is a tough job to keep the water warm without a Heater (even during summer ). However, when we get few hot days like the last 3 the water gets warm. Tonight the water is at 88F. I'm wondering if it's a problem to put on the solar blanket even if the water is at 88F. Could it be bad fopr the water. The night is supposed to be a bit cold (66F / 19C).

I did it last night and the water was at 86F at night (this morning it was at 84F, so I lost 2 degres)

I have AG 24 feet pool with SWG.

I wouldn't think it's a problem. (Sure hope not--I leave my cover on most of the time and the water temp has been in the upper 80s for weeks.)

No problem. Mine is in the mid-upper 80's. If you want to keep the water warm, keep the blanket on. Just keep an eye on the chlorine. You lose less with the cover but much easier to get complacent with it on.

No problem at all. In fact, that's what a solar cover is good at - minimizing heat loss at night.

Mine is, too. We've gotten rather spoiled with 88 degree water.
