Hi All.

After 2 years of having the pump off and no cover I recently reopened the pool.
I'm getting really good at turning a frog and mosquito pond back into clear sparkling delight! :)

I was thinking about removing the swg and manually dosing the pool.
Currently there is no cya or salt and I want to keep it that way, if possible.

So, if I dose the pool to about 4ppm every night, would that be good enough to keep it sanitized?

I know the sun will cook off the chlorine the next day, but will the algae have a chance to grow in that short time?

The sun hits the pool at around 9am and stays until around 4pm.

So I'd guess the chlorine is gone by 11am or so.

Yes it will be gone by 11 and yes that will give algae plenty of time to grow.

I guarantee there is plenty of salt in your pool, every chemical you add to your water adds salt to it. Swimming adds salt to your water. There is salt in your water.

Ok, I'll bite. Why do you want zero CYA?
