Multi-port valve leak

I just noticed that I have a leak in my backwash port when the valve is turned to filter. I woke up this morning thinking "wow, must have had some serious evaporation going on last night", just to discover the bucket where I keep the backwash hose at was overflowing. I don't know, but I'm thinking spider gasket? Filter is a Sta-rite 200# sand filter. Unit is less than 2 years old & I've always turned the valve in the same direction. Seems like it doesn't matter what direction you turn it! I hooked up a spare section of hose and now the leak is being diverted back into the pool. Could someone verify the gasket theory?

Sure sounds like it. Pull the top off and have a look. I was just inside my Sta-Rite MP, and if yours is the same, the gasket isn't replaceable. You have to get it as part of an assembly.
