Following your advice, I'm on day 4 in turning pea soup to a clear pool. I've superchlorinated with 6% bleach and kept the FC at 25ppm and scrubbed the pool with a wire brush everyday. The pool is now clear, but I can't get rid of the algae stains (see pic).

Any help would be much appreciated!

I can't really tell from the pic, but if the stains are organic (and it sounds like they are), I would simply hold elevated chlorine levels (about 5-8ppm with a CYA of 40) for the next few weeks and I believe they will slowly go away before you are ready to close for the season.....depending on where you live.
