Pool timer - run in 2 batches or 1

Hello,

I just put a timer on my pool and I am trying to decide if I should run it in 2 sets or just 1. I am running it for about 8 hours a day. Should I run it for 8 hours straight or in 2 four hour sets. What does every one out there with timers do for theirs?

What time of day do you run the 8 hours now? I think daytime running is important, so if you did 11-3 or something and then another 4 at night when the rates are less.

Currently I have it set to run from 10am to 2 pm and again at 10pm to 2am. I am thinking of running it more in the day (my wife doesn't like the fact that bugs start to collect in the pool when it is not filtering) maybe from 10 - 4 and than again from 11pm - 1am.
