Cutting solar covers in half

I just got back from vaca and the pool held up great with my cover on. I plan on removing it tomorrow sometime and remembered some people say they are easier to handle if you cut them in half. When you use the cover like that does this effect the spinning while the pump is running??

If you point the return eyeball slightly downward it should help prevent it from moving out of position.

Thanks, I didn't have any problem with it moving out of position this time, I was just not sure if I cut it in half if it would still spin or if you have to hook the 2 pieces together first.

I actually cut mine into fourths...It makes it easier to put in and out by myself...My wife can hand it in to me and then I spread it out. I can then take it out easier then if I have a whole cover or a half a cover...I have a pool fence around the entire pool, I have one section open by the filter and that is where I take it out from.
