    Indeed! I read “A Brief History of Time” as a teenager and it was instrumental in getting me interested in science & mathematics. Had that not happened, I probably would have chosen to be a professional hair stylist and toenail clipper....hmmmmm....probably would have made more money as the latter

    I always preferred the simpler form -

    e=-1

    But yes, that is a mystery of mathematics - a combination of purely irrational and imaginary numbers producing a real, negative integer. No one has come up with a satisfactory explanation of why that should be.

    The first hundred digits are easy. If you could post the last 100 digits, now that would be impressive.

    My superconducting Josephson tunnel junction qubit quantum computer is currently running that algorithm. Unfortunately I tried to load up PoolMath at the same time and crashed to code. As soon as my dilution refrigerator reaches 15mK I’ll reboot the qubits and start over. However, I’m running low 3He so I might only be able to get to the first 50 digits of the last 100....

    Re: Happy Pi Day!

    That's a good idea. I decided to make a quantum computer using neutrinos in a superposition of all flavors.

    It worked!

    It calculated pi to the last digit.

    It turns out that pi is a palindrome. It's the same backwards and forwards.

    So, the last hundred digits are the same as the first hundred digits, but in reverse.

    Who knew?
