The blazing Texas sun will be here soon. Is my CYA high enough or should I think about raising it to 60? Currently, my pool has never looked better! Thanks.

David, how are you chlorinating?

If with a SWG you'll want higher than 60 in that hot Texas sun. Like 80.

If with liquid chlorine I'd take it to 50 first and see how you do.

You can always add more but it is a pain to have to remove if you go too high.

Liquid bleach here. I'll just keep it at 40 and then raise it up slowly until I reach a happy medium. This will be my first summer on my own. I'm excited. I'll never hire another worthless pool service again.

50 in June and July and 60 in August works for me.
