Back up valve contious flow

My outside case on my back up valve was cracked, so I ordered a new case and took the old back up valve mechanism out and installed it in the case, now the back valve stays on all the time, I was wondering if there are any gaskets or O- Rings inside the valve, I am thinking the mechanism is defective. I did see one small o-ring on the outlet of the valve, but no others,

Are you referring to the backwash valve on a sand filter? If so, you can likely find the owners manual online that has a diagram with the parts. You would just need your make and model of the filter to look it up. If you provide some more information, we may be able to help further.

edit: I just saw that you posted this in the pool cleaner section. Same info needed though. make and model.
