Thanks. I have a 18 month old custom diamond stainless steel spa and for weeks there have been yellowish flakes (algae?) in the water. I have applied copper based algacide, non chlorine shock (renew) but it keeps coming back. Any suggestions are welcome. This spa uses a balboa UV light filtration system. Only peroxide is added periodically. No chlorine because of the stainless steel.

Given that you keep no residual sanitizer in your water it could well be some bacterial problem. The only sanitation happens within the UV chamber, leaving the rest of the water to fester.
I can't really offer any starting advice other than introducing a sanitizer to the mix. Possibly biguanide or a silver ion source will work. Best of luck!
