Alright all, after battling this pool season (first as a pool owner) with a high CYA and to say the least some issues along the way and avoiding any algae. It’s time.

I am lucky enough that I pay a basic sewer charge year round and am aware of my drain requirements in my area but better yet I get to drain along the curb which leads to sewer drains as long as my chlorine levels are at 0 ppm.

I am planning on draining end of January/February and need to know what’s recommended after the fill. CYA of course but to what level in sunny AZ. Should I post tap water results?

Add 30 ppm of CYA while filling. Add 3 ppm of bleach.

Once March comes raise your CYA to 50 ppm. Follow [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].

It is always good to have a test of your fill water. You can skip FC and CYA. Also good to get your water suppliers water quality report.

Most likely will need to work at getting your TA down after the fill. Acid and aerate for that.

Good luck.
