Do you use polyquat with BBB Method?

doing a new pool startup after liner: The pool school says to add polyquat but BBB doesn't mention... should I use it? I had a huge algae problem last year

You can. I only use it at closing, since chlorine does a perfectly fine job of keeping algae away.

Welcome to the forum. Many folks on the forum use it at closing. Others do not.

During the season, we never recommend it.

You had algae because your FC got too low. Adequate chlorine will jkeep your pool crystal clear.

I have a bottle that I will probably use for closing, but the chlorine has worked just fine for me.

I converted my pool to chlorine in May and have not even thought about using an algaecide. We have had nothing but rain here all summer, yet my pool has remained crystal clear.
