UV Meters?

Does anyone have any experience using UV Meters, a la the UV Hawk ($20 at Target.com)? It may turn out to be a fun toy to play with and I was wondering if it would be useful to determine how UV a pool is getting. One could learn the effects of sun angle, shade, etc. Maybe even stick it in a ziplock baggie and measure the UV underwater at different depths ...

Any thoughts?

This sounds like an interesting experiment, but what do you get out of it (besides engineering amusement)? Also, I wonder if anyone actually sells an instrument that measures UV accurately but costs only $20.

Mostly engineering amusement. When the scale is 1 to 15, accuracy isn't really expected.

I was wondering if it could be useful for estimating the amount of UV that is actually hitting a pool. And for $20, a rough estimate would be sufficient.
