Whats your opinion on converting to salt. I live south of Chicago and i have a 20x40 foot pool I just spoent 5,000 on a new liner and 2hp pool pump + heater repair + minor leak repair. I done the pool equipment repairs by my self and some help form Here and saved maybe 7-800 in labor. So now i wouldnt mind spending another 1,000 on a salt system if that means saving 300+$ in chlorine tablets and other chemicals per season.

You wont be sorry. Get a pentair system. Intellichlor IC-40. I'm ure others have opinions to, but from what i can see, pentair make a good system.

i'm biased too since i have one.

Not sure about money savings, but much easier to maintian the pool, IMO.

Well the 3inch tablets at a discount place near me cost about 400 $ for the season i may have a few left for next year but usually 4-500$ in chemicals and closing / opening the pool.
