Just inherited a pool with the aqualogic system and the spa remote (floaty one) is broken. I kind of like the remote but don't like the price. Seems there are universal RF remotes out there that might work instead. Anyone have suggestions about successful remote alternatives? Does not necessarily have to be waterproof. Thanks.

The Goldline of controls (Aqualogic, AquaPlus etc) use a propriotory protocol. So a universal remote will not work. You have several alternatives: A wired, water proof remote can be had for about $140. A wireless non-water proof remote goes for a little more. The water proof, floating wireless AquaPod is very expensive. Hayward also now makes an interface where you can connect a computer or home automation system to its controls.
