Just joined. Been struggling with my pool a bit. This time with TA being way to high. Also getting the run around by
the local pool store and costs. Never understood how to lower TA and raise PH by aeration. I'd also like to figure out
how to appropriately use Borax. This site looks like just the thing I need to get help.
Thanks!

Thank you. It was that post that convinced me to join. Well that and I wanted to be able to see pictures
and other features. I'm aerating my pool with a make shift sprayer tonight fed from the cleaning booster
pump and I got the slide water going. I hope this raises the PH as I don't want it any lower than it.
is. My TA is up around 280. I get nervous about equipment damage from PH balance issues.

Thanks again.

Well my make shift aerator seems to be working. PH rose to 7.4 so I could add acid
to drop TA . TA is dropping and is now near 220. CYA is at 50 and FC is at 4.
Pool has turned from green to blue an dis on the way to clear I think.

I bought some Borax and liquid chlorine. Now I need more Acid .

But I also need a new test set and a better vacuum head.
I'll order the ones recommended on the site.
I'll be making a real aerator so it can run off the primary
pump.

So right away there's value from this site.

Thank you

Yesterday we had a pool party and the pool looked great. I have gotten
control of it and this site has really helped out. I also made a set of 2 simple
aerators that run off the discharge jets. 35 bucks worth plastic pipe and about 30
minutes and they worked great.
My new test kit arrived yesterday and I wish I ordered the Borate test strips.
Oh and getting the pool to straighten up didn't cost near as much as would
have if I kept going back to the pool store.

PH 7.4

Borate = unknown

The pool looks clear and great -
