Suggestions for a water-base silicone spray?

My aquamatic motorized pool cover calls for using a water-based silicone spray for lubricating the sliders which run along the tracks, I am unable to find one that says it is water-based. the closest I could find is Jig-a-loo spray which says it is non oil-based. It seems to wash off quite easily from the fingers. Is this something I could use?
 
ya know what WD 40 is a Water based lube use that.I would never use this junk on any metal surface though it will just rust your junk up. On chains i use a chain wax or silicon spray like liquid wrench.

WD40 is NOT water based. The WD stands for 'water displacment' and it was the 40th formula developed. It is a petroleum based lube. It also does not contain silicone.

LIQUID WRENCH also is petroleum based and does not contain silicone but they do make one that contains Teflon.

While your intentions were good your info was faulty.
 
ya WD-40 should never touch anything rubber / plastic / fiberglass in a pool. (Though it has a place in the tool box for sweaky filter tank nuts)

I LOVE silicone spay, I personally use a food grade silicone made by RDS. It lubricates very well. But it must be used with experience; since like all silicone sprays they will expand rubber. This is a nice tool but can be a curse if not used correctly. ... like spray your o-rings seconds before you assemble. ... if not.. they just may not fit by the time you get to it. ;-)

Once you use this stuff, you will never use a silicone "lube" like magic lube again.

Will it hold seal plate o-rings (Sta-Rite) in place during assembly?
