Do I need to shock after drain and refill?

I am helping a buddy.His CYA was over 300 from years of tablet usage.We drained and filles his pool last night.My question is do I need to shock the water to start.Here are the current number of a 8000 gallon pebble tec pool.Also in what order to I bring everything up in?Thank You in Advance oh Great Pool Website

not counting cya, TA, CH and FC all need to be increased soon. see here for recommendations:

No, you don't need to shock.

You don't need liquid CYA either, why the added expense? I'd just go with granular.

Adjust the TA with Baking Soda up to 70, ASAP, so the PH level is stable.

I agree, pick up some Calcium Increaser.
