Deck / House Foundation Tie-in

Whats the general consensus/best practice here about NOT having the new pool deck tied (via rebar every few feet) into the existing porch/house foundation? And just having some sort of expansion joint between the two monolithic structures...

I can see both points of view on this one...

NOT on the rebar. The structures need to move independantly.

Are you pouring a concrete pool deck that will butt the existing concrete foundation of the house?

There's an expansion joint between the foundation/porch, and decking...

That should be ok. Like Dave said, just dont tie it in with rebar
