im getting ready to hard plumb my ag pool and wanted to know if the pipes running underground from filter/pump have to be level or can they be at a slight slope?

On the pressure or suction side of the pump it doesn't matter. The only thing that really matters is that you don't loop the skimmer piping above the water level before it gets to the pump. And really it's not that big of an issue it just makes the pump hard to prime sometimes.
I just hard plumbed my pool and I had a leak in the middle of the pipe run. 
Kind of made me angry that a new piece of pvc pipe had a small crack in it. I ended up cutting the cracked part out and splicing it back together,
