You keep talking about a good test kit. I have trouble reading the drop type pool kits. So I found a digital meter. Do you know anything about Aqua Chek Trutest Digital Reader?

Digital readers have their own issues, from what I understand.

This thread:

is about Epool, but the Trutest is mentioned briefly.

When you say you have trouble reading the drop kits, can I assume you mean the OTO and PH tests?

The FAS-DPD test, included in the recommended kits, is a drop-count test, where you are counting drops until there is a color change from pink to clear, so you aren't "comparing" colors on a view tube. Same with TA, you are counting drops till the solution turns from green to red/pink.

The CYA test is different, slightly more complex, but still more accurate that strips/digital readers.

I knew several people who had digital meters for their fish tanks and they reported that you had to keep adjusting the calibration, constantly. That is, you had to mix a test solution, then use that to recalibrate the device. Lot of work, IMO.

I guess mostly the ones from Wal mart or such. If I buy the K-2006 will I be able to better adjust my pool?

I also have trouble understanding all the codes that everyone uses. So simple minded I am.

Which codes?

Unless you're in Canada, the TF-100 is a better deal for the money, since you get more reagents with the kit, and it uses the same Taylor reagents as the K-2006. TF-100 is not available in Canada.

Will you be able to better adjust your pool? You bet. :goodjob:
