Hayward aqua logic ps-4 communication error err1

My local display panel is giving me the communication error err1 suddenly today. My remotes are working fine and the systems are functioning. Could this be just the cable connecting the display? Or is it always the display itself. I just purchased an american home shield warranty last month with the pool add on, but don't want to use it with a $100 co-pay if it could just be a cable connector issue.

Call the 1-800 number on the inside door. Could be Main board or the display board, but check the connection first.

Thank you for the feedback and the manual. I am going to work on these steps. Im hoping its just due to a power outage. We did have one a few weeks back.

Thank you for the manual and the replies. I turned off the main breakers while I installed a new keypad, bezel and cover on my heater. I hoped that having the breakers off for 2 minutes would reset it. When i turned it on, vualla!!! My display is functioning normally.
I am also hoping I will not need another hayward heater keypad due to sun damage. I bought a bezel cover to protect the lcd screens.
