vac question

my vac goes thru my skimmer. do i need to remove the skimmer sock before i vacuum?

with my vac you have to take the basket out and plug the vac hose into the pipe at the bottom of the skimmer. is that how yours is?

I would. If the sock clogs, it can damage the skimmer basket.

i have to put plate adapter plate in top of skimmer then attach vac to adapter plate. the skimmer sock does get clogged. do i have to take basket out to vac?

Take the sock off, leave the basket, attach the plate. Vacume, replace sock.

If I were you, I'd get a vac plate so you can still use the basket. Good protection against clogged pipes.

but I did learn my new thing for the day. never heard of those before.
