Jack's - Stain removal

Before finding this forum and learning about the vitamin-c treatment, I purchased jack's magic step stuff and 3 bottles of Jack's "Purple stuff" (for salt water pools) in order to remove stains on my stairs. I haven't started the cleaning procedure.

After reading some posts in the forum, I'm getting the sense that I should not be using "purple stuff" as a sequester. True?

For part of a stain treatment I would use the pink or blue stuff and use the purple stuff as maintenance afterward.
