Am I on the right track?

I replaced 30% of my water and got the pH in balance and lowered the CYA (yeah), but the 4 jugs of bleach I put in today hasn't done much for the nasty greenies and it raised the Total Available chlorine level. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With CC of 2.5, you need to shock the pool.

The pool store told me I needed Oxidizing Shock (chlorine-free). Should I use that along with more bleach? Or not at all? The pool calculator tells me to add 80oz of stabilizer? Could you explain a bit more for me pls.

Not at all. Just use bleach.

Don't add any stabilizer till you are done shocking and the FC is holding. If you add it now, it just means your shock level will become higher and you'll have to use MORE bleach.

So following the instructions for How to Shock your pool, and once everything is stable, then you can increase the CYA.

Just use bleach, a.k.a. liquid chlorine.

Thanks! Unfortunately I have to stop the process for a day till Monday. Shall I add more liquid chlorine now and then take another reading on Monday? Will adding it now help during my day away? Or just wait...
