Possible filtration/pump issue with clearning deep end

In my vinyl lined, sand filter pool (35'long x 17'wide, oval) I have one return. I am relatively new to TFP, but have gotten rid of a really bad green algae problem. I have one issue left - the deep end never clears up. My deep end is 8' 6" and the shallow end is 3'. The return is at the deep end. I have it pointing horizontal to promote circulation, but I am not sure if the water down low is getting a good stirring. Oh and another note, I do NOT have a floor drain. I have been doing an experiment where I sink my vacuum hose (I have a pool vacuum port on the side of my pool, separate from the skimmer) into the deep end to promote water circulation down low.

Any suggestions, ideas? Should I point my water return down low? Is the cloudy water deep just something I have to deal with?

Do you have a drain on the bottom of your deep end?

Nope. No floor drain

Point the return down. That should help.

What do you mean, "never clears up"? Algae? Cloudy?

You can connect your vacuum and leave it in the deep end for a while, and it will pull water from the deep end.

I think your approach of sinking the vacuum is a good idea also. I'd also point the return down.

Where is your skimmer located in relation to the deep end?

Skimmer is closer to the shallow end, on the beginning of the slope from shallow to deep. Probably about 8' away

I would point the eyeball down as far as I could and slightly away from the skimmer. In all honesty you will probably have to play with the aim until you get it the best it can be.
