Borates and new plaster

I have new plaster, approx 2 months old, and am considering adding borates. Are there any issues I should be aware of when adding borates to new plaster?

I wouldn't add borates for the first 30 days, but you are already beyond that. Adding borates should be just fine at this point.

Thank you, I didn't think there would be a problem from what I had read but I thought I would ask.

Just realize that borates will NOT help that much with the pH rise and acid demand from new plaster since that is not from outgassing of CO2 but, rather, from alkaline material being put into the water from the curing plaster.

I did not expect it to stop the PH rise, thank you for pointing that out. I thought it might make keeping it in line a little more trouble our fill water PH is over 8.2. Refill for evaporations, splash out and the curing plaster rise, MA and I are constant companions. I keep reading, I am as new at pool care as the plaster.
