Question about TA drops results

Just wondering...when I'm swirling, doing the TA test....do I count the amount of drops at

1. When the sample finally turns red and then usually goes greyish

or

2. When the sample turns red and stays red?

You add drops till the sample starts to turn red/pink/yellow. You then continue adding drops as long as the color continues to change. The final drop, which does not change the color any further, is not counted.
