Should I use some sort of Ant "Barrier" ??

As I get ready to do the pool base, I'm wondering what others have used (or did not use) to tread the ground to prevent ants under the pool?

I've used appx 6" of screenings / road base for the site of my pool (very rocky soil).

It really packs like concrete but still I"m thinking I should use some sort of barrier / chemical to help prevent bugs / ants.

Any suggestions?

I don't think anything is needed.
If you did put something down getting it to last years (thinking chemicals) is difficult.

One of the longest acting are the termite treatment chemicals which also kill ants.

I would probably not put plastic down because drainage is good in general and where there is moisture retained there ye will have bugs also.
