I'm wanting to raise my CH a little bit. Any problem with using small quantities of Cal-Hypo shock instead of bleach for a while?

That should be fine. You may want to brush the bottom of the pool just to make sure it dissolves all the way.
First, What is your CH level?
Edit: Based on a post you made on Monday, your CH level is 230 which is not low, it's just fine for fiberglass. End Edit.

My CH level is 220, so it's not real low. waterbear recommended getting it up a little higher due to my staining problems.
I thought it might be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. chlorinate and also get the CH up a little at the same time.

Then Cal-Hypo is fine. Use the "effects of adding chemicals" to determine how much the cal level will be raised with each addition.
