This might be a dumb question but to get the accurate water volume, do I need to actually measure how deep my water is, or just knowing how tall the sides are is enough? I found the calculator at the bottom of poolmath and wondered how exact in the depth I need to be.

If you're just getting started you can estimate for now, but since you have the luxury of an AG, I'd measure whether the water tends to be and get really accurate results from PoolMath.
