Deck Inspection Florida - Seminole County

Super specific question but seems like enough people are in my area.

I'm in Seminole county and I'm putting a travertine deck in with my new pool.

We have on out inspection list, a Deck Inspection.

What exactly is covered by a deck inspection? Our plans call for 4 inches of stone, 1 inch of sand under the deck and a 4x6 concrete curb to lock the sides.

At what point in that process do I call in the inspection? I'm at grading and compacting now.

I can call the inspector but want to be a little educated first...

Have you found out the answer yet? If not your best bet would be to call your local place and see what they say.

I called the Permitting office, he sorta spoke in circles.

Went to the Permitting office, they said call the inspector

Called the inspector, he said since we have no footers for our deck (only a curb) that he would be inspecting that the deck area is free from garbage, tree roots, and misc stuff. He isn't checking pitch, slope, grading anything. Very odd inspection.

He will be here today, I'll update with what he tells me.
