What Size Vacuum Hose to Buy?

Moved in last year and trying to slowly wean myself from the pool guy. Unfortunately, I wasn't left with any documentation on the pool from the previous owners. I'm looking at different manual vacuum options and have honed in on this vacuum head and hose (both 1.5"). Before I buy though, I want to make sure it's compatible with the skimmer connection. Tape measure in the skimmer hole seems to read 2", but it tapers shortly after.

Should I be looking at a 2" hose and vacuum head instead? Also, for a 35' long pool with skimmers at each far end, I assume a 40' hose is the right way to go?

Thought about getting a 1.5" vacuum plate, but skimmer and lid don't have any marking to indicate the make/model.

First time poster, TIA.

I have and love this vacuum head:

It is SO easy to use and not moving parts to wear out.

Here is an example of a skimmer plate :

There are others. Just search for pool skimmer vacuum plate and see which one would work best for your pool.

Hi, Joe!

I started with something more complicated, but I ended up with this

It just fits inside the port in the skimmer and the end of the hose slips into the threads and stays there with friction fit.
