Buying Pentair Pump on Amazon- warranty?

Looking at buying a pentair pump on Amazon. It seems to be the best price I can find for the VS. They offer an extended 3 or 4yr warranty. Is it worth getting the Warranty?

    Thanks guys!

I asked this same question a month ago. I think I'm going to get a local guy to install it for a reasonable price.

I don't recommend buying those insurance policies ("extended warranties") but, since Pentair only offers a 60 day warranty for equipment not bought in a brick and mortar store and installed by a 'professional' It may be a good deal. Before buying one of those standalone warranties, I would recommend looking into one of those home equipment insurances.

According to the brochure Squaretrade doesn't cover electrical supply problems such as surges, which is the number one issue with the variable speed pumps.

For some reason I thought they had surge protection built in? I'll have to search the forum and see the latest on how to protect against it. Interesting. Thanks!
